El trabajo analiza el rol de las Escuelas Rurales de Uruguay, tomando como hipótesis que son espacios potenciales, propicios para pensar la co-constitución en ellas de Observatorios Socio-Ambientales. Se realiza un análisis teórico-reflexivo poniendo en el centro de la discusión los impactos ambientales que enfrenta hoy el medio rural y sus pobladores. Discute la relación Sociedad-Naturaleza, siendo la Educación Ambiental desde una mirada crítica la herramienta para pensar, potenciar y co-construir los observatorios.

The paper analyzes the role of the Rural Schools of Uruguay, taking as hypothesis that they are potential spaces, propitious to think about the co-constitution in them of Socio-Environmental Observatories. A theoretical-reflexive analysis is carried out, placing at the center of the discussion the environmental impacts that the rural environment and its inhabitants face today. Discusses the relationship between society and nature, being environmental education from a critical perspective the tool to think, empower and co-construct the observatories.
