El artículo aborda la relación que existe entre la universidad y el desarrollo sostenible. Para ello se apoya en la Agenda para el Desarrollo Sostenible promulgada en 2015. Se define el término comunidad tanto desde el punto de vista geográfico y sociológico. Se realiza un breve diagnóstico del concepto universidad y establece las relaciones que deberían existir entre esta institución y la comunidad en función del desarrollo sostenible.

The article addresses the relationship that exists between the university and sustainable development. This is supported by the Agenda for Sustainable Development promulgated in 2015. The term community is defined from both the geographical and sociological point of view. A brief diagnosis of the university concept is made and establishes the relationships that should exist between this institution and the community in terms of sustainable development.
